I enjoy metal detecting, i spend a lot of my time at schools old buildings and old houses, I find a lot of coins rings and other things, I'm retired so it gives me something to do, I retired due to a ladder accident so using a metal detector increases my mobility. Makes me use my back instead of sitting all the time.

I have been interested in metal detecting for quite a long time. Now that I am retired I know I will have a lot more time to dedicate to treasure hunting. I set my new gold stinger on auto and went for the first time last week. The ground was still frozen but I decided to try it anyways. I was out for about 3 hours in a local park and found 6 coins my first time trying. Fortunately, they weren't very deep. Now that the ground has thawed more I am going to a local park and try the beach there. I am sure I will have it all to myself this early in the season. I have also done a quite a lot of research on the internet and the local historical society museum and library. I was able to locate many historical sites and ghost towns here in Minnesota. I was amazed at the number of ghost towns in Min. as I thought they were all out west. I am fortunate that I really know one town very well as I have hunted that area all my life and feel it is pretty much unexplored. I found that my detector is very easy to use and the booklet that came with it when studied made first time operation really easy. I would recommend a Garrett detector to any one as they are easy to use and there internet site is extremely helpful. Garrett was recommended to me and I have a friend who was with me now looking at Garret's to decide which he wants. I also recommended he make his purchase through Kellyco because of the greats buys they offer I am really looking forward to many years of detecting and can't wait to get back out there. I also found a great club right here close to home and will be attending my first meeting later this month.

Very light and very versatile this detector has found me lots of coins and relics. I had it out in the gold fields with great success as well. The detector's tone is its target id...this is the only detector i use ....it has never let me down ...i've never left a site empty handed!!
