The Titan 3000XD is a lightweight, ergonomically designed detector. It is easy to set up and use. The XD means extra deep, and it is a deep seeking detector. It has a manual ground balance, so you can use it on hot mineralized ground and at the beach. It is sensitive to all coins, as well as gold and silver. I have used a lot of different detectors over the years, and have had some success with all of them.

The Titan is a target ID detector and is accurate on most coins. I used it at a local ballpark and found several coins in amongst the trash, even though it has been detected many times before. It has good separation of targets in a trashy area.

Could cherry pick the coins out of the trash. The discrimination and notch can help eliminate or ID targets so you don't have to dig trash. I especially like the zap feature. This is a serious coin hunting machine for most areas. You can swing it all day and not be worn out from swinging this detector, although you may get worn out from digging all those coins. If you are looking for a lightweight, easy to use detector that will fill your pouch with coins, then this may be the one you have been looking for.

It has good depth on coins and jewelry, and with the larger coil, you can relic and cache hunt with it also. It is a very versatile detector for all around use. I have found handfuls of coins and some jewelry in trashy places where others have passed over. The all metal no motion mode is great for low trash areas and relic hunting. The iron reject is good for high iron areas.

I am relatively new to this hobby. I purchased this device through Kellyco. The price was reasonable and included a five year warranty. It only weighs 2.3 lbs making it easy to detect for hours without fatigue. All the functions are digital making it simply a" turn on and go" detector. The readout monitor is clearly visible and the audible tones crisp. I love the discrimination mode because it allows me to hunt highly trashy areas knowing which targets to dig. The pinpoint mode is easy to operate and accurate. Two more features are the depth and identification modes. When it tells you it’s a pull tab, bet on it! When it's a quarter or dime, bet on it, and knows with confidence that's exactly what you're digging.

I mostly hunt for coins. In the first year, I averaged eighty hours of actual detecting time, and my finds were incredible. Mostly, I hunted local parks and fairgrounds. I accumulated over 1000 coins totaling about $160.00. I have hunted old abandoned homes that were donated to the local fire departments to be used in training exercises, and then later burned. My first find was a woman's gold diamond ring. It appraised for $2800. I have also tallied 7 more rings, 2 musket balls, many wheat pennies and a nice Buck knife. My best coin was a 1940 Mercury dime.

I highly recommend this detector to everyone. It can be used by the seasoned veteran or the beginner, and for that matter, anyone in between. I have personally suggested it to people I know. If you want a light-weight, modern, high tech, inexpensive, easy to operate, turn on and go metal detector, then look no further.

The Titan 3000 XD was my first detector. I read lots of reviews and decided this was what I wanted too break into metal detecting with. Assembly was very easy and start up operation a breeze. As with any type there is some learning curve with adjustments and discrimination but it all went smooth. I was picking coins out of my yard the first time out then i went thru neighbors yards and proceeded into playgrounds and school yards.

I have found lots of coins some old some clad, matchbox cars and other die cast toys, a old ornate lead box or shutter decoration, and a old broken hewing axe head under a old tree while searching a local civil war camp site in Middletown Pa.

I would recommend this unit too beginners and experienced alike. It sure got me hooked into the fun and passion of metal detecting!

When in doubt - dig it cause ya never know whats in the ground! The ID is usually right on with coins, especially quarters, and the depth is not bad either for the price of the machine. Handing it on too my son now and gettin me another machine but I will use this from time too time just cause it's fun too use and light weight I can swing it for hours!

On my 70th Birthday, my kids gave me a Titan 30000 XD Detector. Boy was I ever in hog heaven. I turned it on and begin to swing it over the yard and the only things that I found were trashy items. A friend suggested that I read the operators manual. Yep. it did help and I begin to find a few coins. After several trips to the local city parks and a few of the schools, I began to find older coins. This metal detector was a perfect machine that someone could grab and turn on and find items without having to know what the Detector is capable of doing. However, I decided to find out just how good this machine could be, and knowing that the detector is only as efficient as the one who is using it, I put it thru the wringer. The more that I used this machine the more Silver coins and old items would be found.

After a time, it became apparent that I needed a new detector, and after much research on all the models that fell into the price range that I could afford, I purchased my new detector from Kellyco. I then grabbed the operators manual and began to practice the tips that were suggested to help get you started off on the right foot. My new detector, the TITON 3000 is one very well designed machine that almost finds, digs, cleans and puts the object in your pouch, well I wish it were true. The controls are easy to understand and very little memory work is needed to milk this machine to its very limits. I have found some very good keepers in the same areas that I had been over at least a dozen times with my 202.

Included are a couple of items that I would not have in my collection today, except for the Titn 3000 detector. The Military Button has Scovall Mfg Waterbury on the back side and it was located in Sequoyah County, OK. There are still good finds yet to be found, some by accident, others by design. Good Luck and may many happy hours of detecting come your way.

P.S. If you plan on purchasing a metal detector, Kellyco is a good place to visit for all your detecting needs.

I just retired last year and have been thinking of something to do with my spare time. About 35 years ago, I used to detect a couple of days each week. I lived close to Lake Michigan and would wander the beaches. I made a lot of good finds, with the old style detectors, but with jobs, family, all my extra time got filled. So I started to think about detecting again, but I knew nothing of the new electronic detectors. So I started to read online about the new models and how they worked. My first impression was that they would be too hard to understand, based upon my old knowledge. You know different sounds, notch this, eliminate that, etc. So I wanted to get a detector from people that had been around for a while and seemed to have a REAL understanding of them and just where I was coming from. Online web sites kept referring me to Kellyco. There I looked over all the detectors, read the reviews and course looked at the prices. I then settled on the Titan 3000 XD as it was made by 1st Texas, a well known name. I just got the detector yesterday afternoon and went through the manual, doing the education program listed. I saw how the discrimination mode worked and how to increase/decrease the mode. What really was a shock was the detector could really tell you the type of coin that I waved under the coil, from a penny to a silver half dollar, not to mention the bad stuff, such as nails and tinfoil. It was indeed a learning experience. So this morning arrived and I wanted to find a place to try this detector out. But I don't live close to the lake anymore. I found a parking area along the river, just before an Old Covered Bridge. There I saw the remains of a bond fire, so I went to work. In the all metal mode, I got all sorts of beeps, with little movement, but all low numbers that indicated trash. I could see that the trash was very heavy, even on the surface, so I really did not have high hopes. I played with the discriminate modes, noticing that many beeps were gone, so I kept going. I then got a hit constant signal, among the trash and the meter said a penny. I increased the discrimination mode to just under the penny setting and still got a good signal. I dug up a 1943 wheat penny, in an area full of trash. Minutes later, a signal that was constant, but it read a quarter. I wasn't sure about this, but dug, and found a clad quarter. Pinpointing was the hardest, due to the trash, but I found a total of 28 cents in half an hour. I am impressed with this Titan 3000 XD. Now, I just have to find me a beach.
