If you listen to the CD to get started, then all will be great. I just went to the front yard and started searching without the CD. Due too the hard ground I didn't dig much. I dug 4 holes and found one quarter, dime and two pennies. I had the unit on the wrong settings but still found what I did in about 1 hour. Now I know the settings to use and hopefully all will go better at the coast. softer sand. I rate the bounty hunter at 100% as well as the Company I give them 5 stars for such a easy unit to work. I am trying to detect anything, coins so far. I would recommend this unit to beginners as well as seasoned searchers. Now I need some ear phones. I got a larger coil 10.5 because I thought it would help find goodies that people loose. Best of luck in your searches.
