I bought my Bounty Hunter Long Star metal detector a couple of years ago, and it has been an addiction to me ever since. I found so many items from gold rings to old coins and some relics. Every night before I go to sleep I think of where to go dig next time, or of what area I should go next time. Metal detecting has been so fascinating. I wish I had the money to upgrade my metal detector. I want to thank "Kellyco" for all those motivated email ads.

I have always loved the search for the unknown..coins and jewelry were the first to pop up and have seemed to be the most fun investigating. Metal detecting has been a wonderful hobby for me and an incredible tool in building my relationship with my father.

The Bounty Hunter Lone Star sent us out on many searches that not only drew us closer to each other, but, closer to more and more small finds that kept us investigating together.

The Bounty Hunter was always the easiest to use in pinpointing finds and telling what should be additionally searched. It included a carry bag and treasure pouch that came in very useful during trips. I have found the interchangeable coils to be very useful in different searches and the adjustable sensitivity has been a great time-saver.

I am always utilizing the 3-tone audio discrimination. The grip handle is very comfortable and the overall weight under 5 pounds makes it easy to carry everywhere. We upgraded to headphones and other coils as we learned more and more about metal detecting through sites such as Kellycodetectors and Lost Treasures Magazines online site. The use of pin pointers are the next step for my searches to become more productive.

After my dad passed away, and I moved back closer to home, I went out antique hunting in areas where our ancestors had lived in the upstate of South Carolina. During one of our searches of an old homestead of ours from the 1700s, I used my Bounty Hunter to locate change under the front doorway area of the house. I figured that people may have accidentally dropped change in that area putting hands in and out of pockets. I was able to locate several pennies from the mid 1700s. I kept one that is one of my most treasured finds. The fact that one of my relatives may have carried it around over 250 years ago is just incredible. A metal detector such as the Bounty Hunter has been and will always be a wonderful part of my life.

I love too hunt for coins with my Bounty Hunter Lone Star. It’s a very solid machine in all. I love it! I also like too find jewelry. It’s easy too use and has very good depth. I’ve been using it for seven years and I’ve never had any problems with it. It’s a very good detector in coin shooting. I love its weight, and I’ve always wanted a Whites detector. I hope that one day; I could win one and try it out. I’ve heard from many people that this is a great metal detector. I look forward to having the opportunity to win a Whites, because who doesn’t like winning?

I bought this detector from a pawn shop after being outbid on a better unit on Ebay. After getting it home and doing a little bench test , I was ready to go!! My first good find happened around 15 min after first use. I found a 1908 Barber dime that looked like it was dropped in 1909. Then a 40's mercury dime and a bunch of wheaties. The detector was very easy for a beginner, easy tuning to get you started. All in all I give the unit a 5 for product received for the money spent.
