I volunteer at Florida State Parks which are either at or near beaches for months at a time. I have had the Beach Magnet for a year now, and love it. This is the second metal detector I have owned. I use it about 10 hours per week, and have collected bags of coins and other treasures with it, enough to pay for it! It operates so efficiently that it can go for a month or two without ever having to worry about recharging the batteries.

Public beaches contain many pop-tops and bottle caps. Were it not for the adjustable discrimination meter, I would waste most of my time digging up junk. This feature alone justifies the price of the unit. The metal detector works just as well in the water as on land. Coins are what I find most, but I have found rings designed for nearly every part of the body, cell phones, knives, an Ipod, watches, necklaces, cigarette lighters, fishing tackle, keys, nail clippers, and all sorts of other metallic goodies which are normally carried in a pocket or purse. My nicest find thus far has been a small gold ring with a diamond and two rubies. I find enough toys to keep the grandchildren well supplied.

My wife likes to read and walk when we go to the beach. Having the metal detector keeps me quite happy while enabling me to get a little exercise to boot.

I recently broke the arm support, and Kelly Co. was right there to ship the replacement parts to me via next day shipment. You can have the best metal detector in the world, but it won't do you any good unless it is backed by a professional support staff. Cobra's Beach Magnet and Kelly Co. are a winning combination.

Within eight hours of use, (with my Cobra Beach and Land Metal Detector) the plastic shaft that attaches to the coil broke. Kellyco was very good at replacing it free of charge. Within four months, the coil wire connecting to the unit was malfunctioning. I had to send it back to Kellyco again.

My friend owns a 1984 Fisher Aquanaut; it detects items the Beach Cobra misses. In my opinion, pay a few dollars more and get the Aquanaut 1280.

Kellyco is a great place to do business, friendly, knowledgeable, and more than happy to meet all your detecting needs.

The Beach Magnet is very easy to use right out of the box. The controls are simple, with little time needed to adjust settings. The discrimination so far has worked well under several soil conditions and in the ocean and beach. Most of my detecting has been for coins and jewelry at parks and the beaches. The depth of objects has been quite good. In the year I've had it, I have found quarters at depth of more than a foot. Being it's both a land and water unit, for the money, it's not a bad price. The price might get a 4 or 5, but reliability and durability a 2 or 3.

I have the Cobra Beach Magnet metal detector. I've had tons of fun with it and have found many coins with it. I even took it to Thermal City gold mine last summer and used it in the First Broad River and recovered a little gold.

I've had it to Myrtle Beach 3 times and have been to several parks and schools. I've been poked fun at by a few metal detector "pro's " for buying it but I've really enjoyed it. My first day out I tried it in my yard and three inches down, six inches off my side walk, i found a 1937 liberty dime. I've also recovered .22 bullets from my local park out of the sand where my own kids play. I've found around 150 coins already. Two rail road spikes and a horse shoe from my back yard. I am enjoying my Cobra.

I started out with a radio shack metal detector. I paid $79.00 about 10 years ago and I didn't even buy it new. I bought it at a garage sale and I have had several others over the years all from garage sales. This Cobra Beach magnet is my very first brand spanking new one and I couldn't be happier. Also, I am so very happy I bought it from Kellyco because the folks there are the best of the best. I had a couple of problems with the plastic nuts and screws and was helped immediately to resolve the problem - no questions asked. I forgot to mention that I have found so many things with the detector that it's too much to list. I have found some keepers and a lot of very interesting junk but it was fun to find none the less.
