I currently own the Whites DFX. A few years ago my father’s health was starting to go down hill, so me and my wife thought it would be good to take them with us on vacation. Everything was going good. We were on the beach when my father was up in the room watching TV. It just so happens that he saw an advertisement for Whites metal detectors and that was all it took. He had the phone book out and had found the local Whites dealer's phone number and address. Now, he was not new to this hobby. He had a Whites Gold Master T-66 I think several years ago. For the rest of the day, he told us how he would love to have a new DFX. He said he would use it on the beach while we were on vacation.
Well, the next morning we were off to the dealer about twenty minutes away from our hotel. We were back on the beach with-in an hour or so, and boy, did he have a good time! Even though he did not find much, you could tell he was having a great time.
About three or four years later my father passed on. While we cleaned the house I came across his Whites DFX metal detector and thought I would give it a try. That was over two years ago, and I’m still using it today. It has given me so much fun; I can't begin to tell you. My only wish is that I would have done more detecting with my father. I will never forget the time we had on our vacation with mom and dad, thanks’ to Whites metal detectors.

I have been metal detecting for just over 2 years. I started out with a Bounty Hunter Pioneer EX and quickly moved up to a Garrett ACE 250. A short time after that I purchased a used White's Eagle Spectrum. As a back up I purchased a Minelab Sovereign. After using the Eagle Spectrum and the Minelab, I found that the White's detectors were for me. I sold the Minelab and purchased a used DFX to use as my primary machine. I quickly learned everything I could about the DFX. I studied how metal detectors in general work and compared it to the settings available on the DFX. I have found great success and all of the hidden potential of the DFX.
I felt I needed to share my knowledge and hosted a DFX Workshop open to anyone with a DFX or an XLT so I could share not just a "HOT" program, but the knowledge of how the detector works and what each setting does. Although I am a member of a large local metal detecting club, I posted the class's open enrolment on several metal detecting websites. The class was a great success, and the attendee's finds are pouring in!
I had two people contact me from metal detecting forums asking about the DFX. Since one was located in New Jersey and the other in Texas, I have been coaching them both by email and even by phone. I really hate to see a fellow detectorist struggle with a new machine, even if they are "old pros" when it comes to metal detecting. I took it one step further and conducted a program on "How a metal detector works" to provide information not just specific to the DFX.
I recently sold my Eagle Spectrum and I am looking for another back up machine. I would really like to add another DFX so I can have an extra machine available to help others learn the machine and become educated in workings of the DFX so they will be confident they are purchasing the right metal detector for them. I feel this would be great asset to the hobby and hopefully avoid their first metal detector purchase to be their last. No metal detector should be a dust collector in the closet. The future of our hobby depends on volunteers willing to help others learn, and I really enjoy helping those I can.
I also try to keep a wide variety of accessories on hand for others to try out too. As a result, two of the hobbyists have ordered new Excelerator 10x14 coils from Kellyco in just the last month!
It has been a great pleasure working with Kellyco and I am happy to see that your staff is as passionate about the future our hobby as I am. It's so great to talk with a representative that really loves their job, and the metal detecting hobby.
Thank you Kellyco, and Happy Hunting.

I love to search for coins, jewelry and relics and sometimes go beach hunting with my Whites DFX. Though I have not purchased a new machine as of yet, and when I do I will buy another White's detector. But in the meantime I have still been using my White's Silver Eagle for along time now and it is very similar to the newer ones.
This detector has never let me down. I love that it is fully automatic and that I can turn it on and select what you want to hunt from and follow the instructions that come up across the screen. Navigating the menu is very easy and they even have everything silkscreened on the machine itself for reference. You can even customize the settings and save it to use later. Target id is always right and gives you the target id number and what it is before you dig. The targeting pinpoint is always precise and dead on, pull the switch and the meter and sound tells you if you are on top of your find. With all the use it gets and what it goes through, like rain, snow, and lots of heat.
It still looks new, but very well cared for. The machine is very well made and strong, has great balance and is light weight. I do not tire from using it and I can keep on going for a long time. The use of regular batteries is very good and will last, I use rechargeable and very happy with the life. On my typical hunt, I will find gold and silver jewelry. Old silver halves, dimes, quarters, old nickels and lots of wheat pennies and all new coins. I would recommend any white's detector, will not let you down.

I started metal detecting with my Whites DFX to get out of the house and in fresh air. I was getting depressed with only working all the time and not getting out enough. So finding things in the ground, and moving about seemed like a good thing.
I did some reading and talked to my some folks who are in the hobby and finally got a Whites DFX. Let me tell you it's been a blessing. I try and metal detect every chance I get. The Whites is a great machine that I will never outgrow.
I have found some great finds here in Jacksonville Beach, and up the coast. The DFX does the job at the beach, or inland as well. Being this close to Kellyco is a great joy. I’m able to visit their showroom and see all the neat things they have. I also enjoy the fact that I can talk to the wonderful staff.
My best advice to someone new in the hobby is to never give up. If you keep at it you will get better and find all kinds of cool suff. Also buy the best metal detector that you afford. That way you won't have to turn around and buy another in 6 months or less. Whites makes the best in my book, their service and staff are tops in the field. Plus they’re made right here in the USA. So if you’re thinking about something new to do instead of sitting around the house get out and go for it.
