It's been my dream for many years to own a White's metal detector. That dream came true several years ago when I bought a White's MXT detector. It was the best gift I could buy myself!

I had been using an older detector and knew the ropes of locating and finding coins and other items. The MXT was light years ahead of my old detector. With all the written material and video help, I caught on quickly on how to fine tune the machine for locating not only coins, but other relics. I found the detector to be well made, stable, and logical in its operation.

I could use it hours on end without becoming tired because it was lightweight and very balanced. It was amazing all the support I found online about just how to use this unit. Lots of pros were sharing tips on tuning, movement, and understanding the readout information. I found such help the biggest plus to owning this detector. It's a great thrill to watch the readout and dig an item.

My machine is right on the money and I have found lots of it! I owned my first detector in 1972 and I continue to love coin hunting. You can't go wrong buying the White MXT.

I consider myself a careful consumer and researched all the brands and models. I carefully weighted all the choices and feel that going with the MXT was my best possible metal detector option. You will not be disappointed!

I am a coin shooter and jewelry hunter. With my MXT I have found many, many coins in local, parks in my area. Today I found a silver and amethyst ring while searching one of our local parks.

The operation and ease of operating the MXT makes it a jewel of a machine to start on and advance to the most serious relic or prospecting hunts. All I have ever had to do is turn it on select the kind of hunting and type of ground I am working in.

This great machine does the rest. the displays are easy to read and understand, the tones let you know if you have a good target or not, Pin pointing is the easiest ever to accomplish, using the pinpoint trigger, the display bars and the tone to locate your finds. The depth readout is very accurate and easy to understand.

I love my MXT and I recommend it to everyone whether you are a newbie or seasoned and experienced treasure hunter. Best wishes and good hunting to all!!

As a new convert to the metal detecting hobby, my impression of the sport and review my new detector may be somewhat limited. My family and I, wife Ramie and three sons Micah(13), Rodney(11), Tyler(8) were looking for another interest that would be done together instead of individually. As avid users of GPS units and geocaching we decided that metal detecting would be just the right thing. A

After much research and questioning of veteran metal detectorists we decided that given the type of hunting we would be doing(varied terrain and locations) that the Whites MXT would be a good choice. We received our detector February 11,2008 and from the moment we read the instructions and watched the dvd we were assured that we had made the right choice. Being new to the hobby we decided that coin and jewelry hunting in our local area around the schools and parks would be a good place to start.

Our first trip was to our boys elementary school over the Presidents Day weekend, given the fact that here in southern Idaho it is still late winter/ early spring the trip was challenging with off and on snow showers, wind and frozen ground but with the first find a quarter! the cold faded and for the next 2 hours we dug all surface targets and ended the trip with $1.98 in coins numerous zippers from coats a couple of hotwheels cars and the realization we had a new family hobby, the smiles and stories by all of us warmed the wintery day.

The Whites MXT is an almost foolproof detector in my opinion. It has the turn on and hunt simplicity that new hunters like us can utilize(all of us from myself down to our 8 yr. old who found a wheat penny 1954 d and three nickels his first time using it) and from what we have seen in our subsequent hunts the advanced ability to be a detector we will not soon out grow.

The MXT features include three different hunting options: coin and jewelry, relic hunting(this we plan to use on an 1800's house foundation as the weather betters) and a prospecting mode... maybe there is a gold nugget in our future! It has an easy to read and understand digital display with a printed guide underneath that corresponds to what is on the screen.

The accuracy of the target identification is incredible and the pinpointing ability, telling you how deep the object is has been consistently reliable, evidenced by us finding a dime at nearly 8 inches deep. The initial price of the MXT seemed high but now that it has proven itself the price is forgotten and more Whites detectors are in our future! Whites MXT and extras just under $600, shipping $10.00, time spent with the family..... would not trade it for $$$ millions.

- Chris, Ramie and the boys.

This Whites MXT is a great detector!

My family and I have had it for a little over a month and what a great way to spend time. To date we have only coin and jewelry hunted but look forward to prospecting in the state as winter releases it grip on the state of Idaho.

Being interested in more than one type of hunting was a major factor in purchasing a multi-purpose detector, the whites MXT looks like it will fit the bill to a tee. We have only used it a few times and already have recovered over $20.00 in change, and yahoo our first silver ring and a silver spoon. The MXT is a real gem to operate all of the boys ages 14, 11 and 8 have found that with a little practice they to can find items with it.

The controls are easy to understand and use, the digital display is clear and concise, target identification and pinpointing have so far been spot on.

It has proven to make use of our Bullseye electronic pinpointer almost unnecessary except in turf grass and dirt/mud situations it is amazing how well the clad coins blend in with the soil. The simplicity of the MXT being a turn on and hunt detector and the ability to grow with it as experience is gained shows us we made the right choice and have a detector that will last many years to come. The kids are already thinking that there should be detectors in their future I think the Whites Prism line will fit the bill nicely.

To sum this all up our decision to buy the Whites MXT has been met with only smiles and anticipation of the next opportunity to hunt.

God Bless and good hunting Chris, Ramie and the boys.

P.S. Even if we don't win anything you can use this review anywhere you see fit, we are already winners by having another hobby the whole family can enjoy.
